BLYM Weekly Updates

Hey people,

For those soccer fans, you must know that a cool 80 million was bidded for Ronaldo recently. I was just thinking to myself: Isn't that crazy?? Those money could have been used better to help 3rd world countries! Hmmm, if they would stop thinking about money for a while and start thinking about other stuff, I'm sure the world would be a better place...




1) CG - Thanks to those who have been coming for cell group for the past year. Cell group finally completed it's last session next week. Looking forward to another run of CG in Nov/Dec!
2) For You, A Thousand Times Over - The Kite Runner Movie Screening: A touching foreign lanugage movie set in Afghanistan about two inseperate friends who were torn apart by an act of betrayal and cowardiace. Decades after the incident, one friend returned to Afghanistan to face and to redeem his mistake. What is this mistake? Organised by the Youth Minstry, 20 June, 8pm in the Lighthouse, Lvl 4. Admission by a pack of chips:)

3) t3 Bible Studies - This week, we are on our second session "The Patriachs"!

4) Tuition class are going on as usual on Sunday afternoons for primary and secondary school curriculums. If you are interested to teach or to learn, please call Joachim @ 92394826.

5) Sports Ministry - If you are a young person aged 16 - 35 and is interested in starting a sports related interest group (basketball, netball, bowling, badminton...), why not form a group of 5 or more interested 'kakis' and approach the Youth Ministry to discuss it? 6) Intercessory - Every fornightly, a group of youths and young adults come together to pray for the petitions of the ministry, the parish and the young people. If you do have any intercessions, please send them to this email and we will pray for you.

7) Hearts on Fire Rally 09 is here again - Jointly organised by NTU, NUS and SMU, tertiary students are welcomed to this rally. Date falls on 11 July, 7.30pm @ Catholic JC Performing Arts Centre. Registration is complusory through this website:

8) Ignation Camp organised by St Ignatius Church. What is it about? Everyone encounters God in different ways. As such, there are 3 themes of experiments you can choose from: Creative, Service, and Pilgrimage. Age: 17 - 25. Date: 26 - 28 July. 9) Amplify Youth in the Spirit Seminar (YISS) - Amplify Ministry invites all youths and young adults to the 21st Amplify Youth in the Spirit Seminar. This invigorating experience has been a defining moment in the lives of many young people. The YISS is a 4-day stay-in retreat where, through reverent worship, insightful talks and introspective sharings, many young people have had a real experience with the Living God and renewed their lives in Him.
