Bridging Light Updates!

Hey people,

Take a look at this week's updates and a Happy Teachers Day to all the teachers reading the updates! Your efforts in maintaining discipline and teaching among scolding is much appreciated!

1) West District Exam Mass. Looking to calm your nerves? Join us for the district celebration at St Ignatius Church on the 4th September at 3.30 pm. Celebrant: Friar Michael De Cruz. Please note that this Mass is considered a Sunday Obligatory Mass. Contact Joachim @ 92394826 for more details. Buses that goes to St Ignatius include 93, 153, 165, 174, 186, 855, 961 and 48. SFAians are encouraged to be in blue!

2) Feast Day. In line with the Nature theme of St Francis of Assisi, we're organising a pets blessing by the Archbishop and a SPCA talk on these respective dates:

SPCA Talk
Date: 25 September 2010
Time: 7.30pm to 8.30pm
Venue: Canteen
Registration is required and a minimum of 20 participants is needed for the talk to proceed. Registration closes by 19 September.

Blessing of Animals
Date: 3 October 2010
Time: After 11.00 am Mass
Venue: The pathway beside the priests garage
Registration is required for this blessing. Registration closes by 26 September.

3) Cell Group. Register your interest (Living in God 2010 from ages 14 - 20), or Little Rock Scripture Studies - Acts of the Apostles for Young Adults (21 years to 30 years old) by replying back! If you have registered but no one has contacted you yet, please call Gregory @ 9829 7091.

4) Countdown to WYD Madrid 11 begins! Registration for SFA group has already started. So far, a total of 6 participants have indicated their interests. We're looking to form a group of 20. If you are interested and between the age of 18 - 35, we welcome you to join us! Do you want a registration form? Reply back for one!

5) SFADotComm - If you are interested to sponsor this newsletter, please approach Terence @ 9665 6032.

6) A testimonial project by the young people for the adults - It's time to re-engage the adults into the passion of being in love with God! We are starting a testimonial project where the youths and young adults can express their struggles, pains and joys while being in love with Jesus. The aim is to gather all these testimonials into a BOOK! When people read it, they go "Ah! So I'm not the only guy with this problem!" We are aiming to publish this book by the end of this year. 7) Parish youth worker - St Francis of Assisi has an opening for a new full time youth worker beginning in January 2011. We are looking for a 22 - 35, has a passion and love for working with young people, responsible and shows good initiative. Candidate must be a Confirmed and practicing R.Catholic, with a Diploma/Degree in any fields, has some basic knowledge of R.Catholic Church theological teachings and is able to lead a team of youth and young adult leaders. Interested applicants please write in with your resume, work experience with youths and young adults, expected salary and ministry leadership experience (if any) and a recently taken passport sized photo. Please address your resume to The Parish Priest: St Francis of Assisi, Position of Youth Worker.

8) Intercessories - Once every 2 weeks, a group of young adults and youths will come together to pray for the needs of everyone in the parish. If you have any petitions, please send them back to our email. This week we pray for people who are having difficulty in being honest.
